Transitioning into adulthood Transitioning into adulthood is about planning for the time when young people will reach adulthood and are no longer in care.
Once young people turn 18, they are legally adults and can decide for themselves how they wish to live their lives. For young people in care, this can feel a little scary as their Child Protection Order ends and the thought of transitioning to live as independent adults can be daunting.
